History

The history of the Institute is closely related to the Poznan School of Electrical Engineering and dates back to 1929 when the State Higher School of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering was established. The head of the then Faculty of Electrical Engineering was Bazyl Iwaniek-Kowalczuk. The first graduates of the School obtained the diploma of an electrical technologist in January 1932. The school was located at Kluczborska Street and Rynek Wildecki, i.e. at today's Maria Skłodowskiej-Curie Square.

About the Institute

The mission of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electronics of the Poznan University of Technology is to carry out scientific research in the field of broadly understood electrical engineering, power electronics, and electronics, mechatronics, and electromechanical converters, light technology, measuring systems, as well as dynamically developing electromobility.
